Nursery paint color

Nursery paint color

Baby Emerson was born on November 5, and we're hustling to get the nursery set up for him.

The nursery is a bright room with big windows that let in sunlight throughout the day. It's an easy room to paint because of the favorable lighting conditions. I wanted a few things out of the wall color:

  • The room should follow our color story for the house as a whole.
  • I want the nursery to feel slightly warmer and cozier than the rest of the house.
  • As per our nursery inspiration, I liked the idea of doing an accent wall behind the crib -- but I wanted to keep an overall grownup vibe.

We chose Benjamin Moore's Pale Oak for the walls. It's a warm, soft gray that is light but still contrasts with the Simply White trim. For the accent wall, we're using Amber Interiors' Shibori wallpaper in indigo.

We haven't hung the wallpaper yet, but the paint is up and dry. What do you think of the paint color?

(I owe a shoutout to our designer, Megan Bachmann, for helping us choose the paint color and wallpaper.)
