Demolition derby

Demolition derby

"What happened to your house?" the delivery driver asked. It's a good question. The main bathroom, roof, and heating system are all gone, in addition to the wall we removed. It's completely terrifying; we now have to trust that our contractor can put the house back together.

As the layers come off, the house's 90-year history is revealed. We found old wallpaper in the bathroom and nursery. I suspect the bathroom wallpaper was original to the house (1926) because it's hand-painted. I'm less sure about the nursery wallpaper, but the pattern reminds me of 1940s repeated florals.
